James Holloway, Chair
James Holloway and his family have resided in the Woodridge Community since 1986. Given his extensive law enforcement and security background, James has been active in addressing many of the problems that plague the community. Presently supported by many established and newly arrived residents, he is aggressively pursing a vision for a vibrant, safe and walk-able urban community. FORIA exists to advance this vision by encouraging the development of Rhode Island Avenue NE, as a first-rate family/friendly business district to serve our community. In addition to his role as Chair, James also serves on the Organization Committee.
Daniel Brewer
Daniel Brewer moved to the District in 2006 and bought his home with his partner in Woodridge in 2008. Daniel works at one of the top salons in the DC area. When he is not involved in helping to revitalize RIA, Daniel is involved in real estate, remodeling his home, traveling, and wine. His keen eye for design and organization is often sought by clientele across the City, including the design of FORIA’s logo. Daniel is a member of the Design Committee.
Angela Brock
Angela Brock, a native of the District, has a background in business marketing and management. After a successful career in the field of government and corporate procurement, and over 25 years in real estate sales, Angela and her sister opened Rita’s Water Ice in 2005. Rita’s has quickly become an institution on Rhode Island Avenue NE, and it is a social hub for neighbors gathering to enjoy the signature frozen treats. Brock is also on the Board of Directors for H.O.P.E., Inc., a non-profit organization that supports housing for the homeless, and she is an active member of the First Baptist Church of North Brentwood. Angela chairs the Economic Development Committee.
Karla Butler
Karla Butler is a Ward 5 resident in the Woodridge community of Washington, DC and is the Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner for ANC5C02. Karla works as an analyst for a not-for-profit government consulting company in McLean, VA, supporting the Department of Defense. As a community activist, Karla has served as a campaign volunteer for newly elected Councilmember Kenyan McDuffie and also created a community newsletter, Hello! Neighbor, to educate residents on emerging and current events in Ward 5 and promote dialogue among residents in the Langdon community. Karla co-chairs the Promotions Committee.
Cyril Crocker
Cyril Crocker was born in the District and has lived in Brookland since attending St. Anthony’s in 4th grade. He remembers duckpin bowling in the shopping center at 13th and Rhode Island NE. While working with the Williams administration, he served as the project manager for the Home Depot and Giant Food Store development. He has served as an ANC Commissioner in Brookland, and spent several years on the Board of Directors for Dance Place. Cyril is a commercial realtor, an avid tennis fan, and a strong believer in the future of Rhode Island Avenue NE. He serves on the Business and Economic Development Committee.
Timothy Flanagan, Treasurer
Timothy Flanagan is the Executive Director of the Washington Area Community Investment Fund, Inc (WACIF) and is a Ward 5 resident. Timothy serves on the Board of Directors for Joy of Motion Dance Center in Northeast DC. He is an advisory council member for the DC Bar Pro Bono Program as well as the DC Small Business Development Center Network. In addition to his role as treasurer, Tim also serves on the Organization Committee.
Daniella Gibbs Leger, Vice Chair
Daniella Gibbs Leger has been a resident of Woodridge in Ward 5 DC for over 7 years. Daniella served in the Obama administration before rejoining the Center for American Progress. A think tanker by day, she spends her off time discussing politics, pop culture, food, football and New Jersey. She is excited about the possibilities for her neighborhood and looks forward to continued positive changes. A former resident of Brooklyn and a native Jerseyan, Daniella has been on a quest to find a decent bagel and a good slice since 2000. Daniella co-chairs the Promotions Committee, and serves on the Organization Committee.
Reuben Hameed
Rueben Hameed has lived in Washington DC for over 10 years in many diverse neighborhoods, including Capitol Hill and Southwest Waterfront, and now lives in the Woodridge area of NE Washington DC. He has been an active participant in the community for many years, including a seat on the Board of Directors of Penn East Inc., and as an active member of the Capital Hill Restoration Society. He has also served as an Advisory Committee member to the Pennsylvania Avenue SE Corridor Land Development Plan approved by the DC City Council, and was appointed by the DC City Council to the DC Public School Modernization Advisory Committee. Reuben chairs the Design Committee.
Danielle Henry
Danielle Henry has lived in the District since 2001. She and her husband purchased a home in Woodridge in 2008. Danielle works in marketing and communications for BoardSource, a nonprofit dedicated to advancing the public good by building exceptional nonprofit boards and inspiring board service. Danielle specializes in social media and marketing, but she also works on publications on nonprofit governance topics. In her free time, Danielle can be found making a cheesecake, playing with her baby, screaming at a football game on TV, or doing yoga.
Darryl Maxwell
Darryl has been a District resident since 2003, living in Ward 4’s Manor Park neighborhood with his wife Janice for the past year. He is the Managing Attorney for the DC Bar Pro Bono Program’s Community Economic Development Project. The Community Economic Development Project provides pro bono counsel to community-based nonprofits, disadvantaged small businesses, low income tenant associations, and limited equity co-ops. When he’s not working, Darryl is an avid runner & cyclist. A native Brooklynite, Darryl continues to root for the New York Knicks, Yankees & New York Football Giants. Darryl serves on the Organization Committee.
Greg Roberts
Greg Roberts moved to the District in 2006 and bought his house in the Woodridge neighborhood in 2008 with his partner. They saw the potential of the community, particurarly, Rhode Island Ave and wanted to be part of it. Greg started the Rhode Island Insider blog as a way to continue the discussion of redevelopment along RIA with other community members. Greg has worked in politics, running political local and state campaigns, and has since worked in marketing and communications in the private industry with focuses on land use, zoning, energy, and the environment. He also serves on the Board for a regional environmental company. Greg is a member of the Promotions Committee.
Kyle Todd, Executive Director
Kyle Todd has been a resident of Woodridge in Ward 5 DC since 2004. He is the Research Coordinator for the University of Maryland Energy Research Center, and is a citizen member of the Air and Climate Public Advisory Committee for the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments. In his free time, Kyle is a fan of baseball, NCAA football, and tries to improve his golf game to something better than “embarrassing.” Kyle currently chairs the Organization Committee.
Nolan Treadway
Nolan Treadway has lived within 3 blocks of Rhode Island Avenue since he moved to DC in 2006 to attend graduate school at American University. He and his wife, Joan, moved to Woodridge in 2011 after being attracted by the friendly neighbors, attractive houses and tree-lined streets. Nolan’s day job is at Netroots Nation, an online political organization Nolan helped to found. In his free time, Nolan follows Michigan State football and basketball and Detroit Tigers baseball. Nolan is the Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner for ANC5C07, and he serves on the Promotions Committee.
